Cindy Walter, B.S.

Director

Cindy received her B.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University, and later went on to work as an electrical engineer at IBM. Cindy’s expertise centers on firmware, processor, and computer server development. Now with 32 years of experience in several different roles, Cindy manages a team that is responsible for validating the architectural features of IBM’s next generation Power System Processors. In addition to being an electrical engineer, Cindy is officer of the West Austin Lions Club.

When she’s not working, you can catch Cindy practicing her karate moves (wax on, wax off). But try not to get on her bad side; holding a second-degree black belt, Cindy can throw a pretty mean punch! As a board member, Cindy hopes to help half Helen increase its organizational capacity so it can provide services to all children who need care. Cindy brings invaluable knowledge and experience to half Helen, having served previously on other nonprofit governing bodies, such as the NYOS Charter School Governing Council and the First United Methodist Church Board of Trustees.
